Pathology is also called anatomical pathology or diagnostic pathology. When a disease occurs in our body, a biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis. And a pathologist observes the biopsied tissue under a microscope to determine whether it is inflammation or benign or malignant tumor.
In addition, determining the type of tumor operated on, cancer stage, and metastasis after cancer surgery, provides clinicians with important information necessary for patient treatment and prognosis. In addition to biopsy, various cytology tests, frozen sections for quick diagnosis during surgery, and autopsies are performed.
- Surgical Pathology
- Receive all surgical specimens and small specimens such as endoscopy, check lesions through visual inspection, make them into glass slides, and diagnose patients’ diseases by observing them under a microscope.
- cytopathology
- Cells collected using a syringe from small lumps in the thyroid gland, breast, etc., are made into glass slides, and diseases are diagnosed through microscopic examination.

Immunohistonchemical Staining
It is a test method used to classify the type and origin of cancer cells in oncological diseases and to determine the patient’s prognosis and treatment plan. -
Immunofluorescence Assay
It is used in disease diagnosis by examining the deposition of immune complexes in kidney and skin diseases and is also used in a test method (Herceptin) to determine treatment policies for breast cancer. -
Molecular Genetic Study
It analyzes DNA information obtained from the patient’s cells or tissues to check for gene abnormalities and abnormal protein expression. -
Electron Microscopy
It is a test method used for diagnosis by observing minute intracellular structures that cannot be observed with an optical microscope.
