The Department of Laboratory Medicine is a medical support department that conducts tests on various samples (blood, urine, body fluids, tissue secretions, and excretions) derived from the human body to help diagnose diseases and determine treatment effects.

Since our opening in 2006, we have established the ‘Laboratory Information System’ and have been using it to report quick and accurate results with the goal of “on-day examination, on-day treatment”. For each inspection part, we are trying to provide quality service by using the latest automated inspection equipment and the Air-shooter system in the hospital.

Laboratory medicine specialists and clinical pathologists with rich expertise and clinical experience are conducting over 1,000 different tests. In addition, we are actively participating in external quality management conducted periodically for accurate and reproducible examination results. Internal quality management is carried out through the inspection of examination equipment and reagents in the laboratory, and quality management of examination is also conducted faithfully.

The laboratory and blood collection room are located in the center of the outpatient clinic on the 2nd floor, making it accessible to internal and external customers. We are trying to provide kind and warm responses that comfort the hearts of our patients.

The automated examination laboratory using Roche's "CCM (Cobas connection modules)" automation system is the pride of the laboratory. Biochemical test equipment and immune serum test equipment are bundled in one LINE and examined as a one-stop. Therefore, we are ensuring the speed of inspection and the efficiency of manpower. These automated equipment are expensive equipments that are mainly installed in large hospitals such as university hospitals.

For general blood tests and urine tests, the latest automated equipment is introduced to produce fast and accurate results. The Immune Serum Test Laboratory conducts many specialized tests such as allergy tests, rheumatism tests, and tumor marker tests.

The Microbiological Examination Laboratory also reports more accurately through batch automation equipment for bacterial identification and susceptibility tests. In particular, we have introduced a tuberculosis fluorescent dyeing machine to expedite tuberculosis bacteria testing.

In addition, the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, one of our laboratories’ specialized areas, conducts precise examinations using molecular biological techniques (PCR method, etc.) for viruses and bacteria that cause infectious diseases such as respiratory viruses, coronaviruses, various tuberculosis, and hepatitis C.
