Introduction of Medical Department

Neurology is a field that diagnoses, treats, and studies all diseases that occur in the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system, including cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, and muscles.

The Department of Neurology is a specialty that diagnoses and treats degenerative brain diseases such as stroke, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease, sleep disorders and epilepsy, headaches and dizziness, numbness in hands and feet, and peripheral nerve and muscle diseases.

The Department of Neurology places more importance on neurological examination than other departments, and diagnosis is often made only by examination. If necessary, computed tomography (CT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI or MRA), TCD (Transcranial Doppler), carotid ultrasound, electroencephalography, electromyography, evoked potentials, and neurocognitive function tests are performed to help make a reliable diagnosis.
